El proyecto CIRC-PACK proporcionará plásticos biodegradables innovadores que utilizarán materias primas alternativas biobasadas y que tendrán un papel fundamental en las siguientes etapas de la cadena de valor del plástico. Estos desarrollos contribuirán a reducir considerablemente la huella medioambiental de los envases, aumentando el contenido de materia prima biobasada y utilizando materiales compostables. Por último, se aplicará un enfoque multisectorial de reciclaje en cascada involucrando a distintos sectores, lo que también tendrá impactos cruciales en otras cadenas de valor (automoción, productos higiénicos), aumentando la tipología y fiabilidad tanto de la materia prima recuperada, como de los productos fabricados con ella.
