With Plastiks, REDBIRD was able to create an environmental awareness campaign combined with an inviting loyalty program using the Plastiks NFTs backed with plastic recovery guarantees. REDBIRD’s strategy with Plastiks: 1. By acquiring Plastic Recovery Guarantees, REDBIRD demonstrated to their customers their commitment to help reduce plastic waste in the environment and compensate their plastic production. 2. As part of the loyalty program strategy, they launched their own NFT collection backed with plastic recovery guarantees to promote their brand together with the fight against plastic pollution. Fans could complete challenges like following the brand on social medias or uploading a selfie with a product of the brand to earn points and eventually receive a free NFT of REDBIRD’S sustainable collection. Each NFT from REDBIRD’s collection was recovering 100 Kg of plastic from the environment and the awareness campaign has been a success both in terms of reputation and new signups. 3. REDBIRD also attached new utility to their NFTs, offering discounts and product giveaways for the most sustainable fans. REDBIRD invited their customers to join them on the journey to fight plastic pollution. The fans could create their profile on the Plastiks Marketplace, compensate for their own plastic consumption and be rewarded with perks by REDBIRD for their sustainability action. 4. A special part of their NFT collection was put for sale. Those special NFTs were customized shoes, special access to new products and tickets for special events of the brand. For example, some buyers of those NFTs were the very first to wear the 2022 REDBIRD XBR Sneaker. When the full collection (100 NFTs) was sold, REDBIRD together with its customers had promoted the guarantee that 10000 tons of plastic have been recovered.
With Plastiks NFTs, REDBIRD was able to reach in a new and innovative way passionate customers, new customers and people who want the next level of community or want access to limited time offers and new products. As a result of this strategy, REDBIRD increased the customer loyalty by allowing current customers to invite friends and family to sign up and take part in this campaign to reduce plastic waste in the environment. This strategy drove a month over month increase in sales and increased REDBIRD’s brand awareness in the US to the next level.
